Dr. Sai Jambunathan has over 25 years of experience in the field of education and college admission process at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her philosophy is to focus on the process of learning and not the product of learning. She is a learning strategist who is passionate about helping students and families have a holistic learning experience during early, middle childhood and adolescence, culminating in going to the college that is the best fit for you.
More recently she experienced firsthand the daunting college application process with her two daughters who currently attend ivy league institutions. Dr. Jambunathan’s thorough research about each of the colleges based on her daughters’ interests and strengths, helped her daughters build an authentic, holistic and robust application and helped her daughters make informed decisions about where they wanted to go for their undergraduate education from the multiple ivy league institutions, top 10 universities and liberal arts colleges acceptances.
She has helped many families find the appropriate preschool for their child, understand and navigate the school system, apply to private schools, guided them through high school, and college application process. She has also worked with students to identify their passion and find opportunities to engage in activities with tangible outcomes, generate college lists that are appropriate for them, craft genuine essays based on lived experiences, and prepared them for interviews.
She is a Professor in the Department Teaching, Learning and Literacy at New Jersey City University. Her teaching experience in a university setting and in depth understanding of academic programs and transferring of courses at universities, has helped her guide students in appropriate course choices in high school, getting credit for those courses at colleges and create a robust academic plan that meets their needs at the university. Dr. Jambunathan has presented her research work at national and international conferences and has published her work in leading research journals. She has also conducted numerous workshops for teachers and parents in the US and India. She is a member of the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), American Educational Research Association (AERA) and National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). She has visited over 40 colleges and universities, 20 private schools and countless preschools all over the United States.
